Overnight: Hanoi

Begin your day with a full exploration of Vietnam’s vibrant capital, a city where timeless heritage meets the pulse of modern life. As you journey through Hanoi, you’ll feel the distinct charm and warmth that make this city so captivating.
Start with a leisurely walking and cycling tour through the French colonial quarter, passing graceful landmarks such as the Hanoi Opera House, the legendary Metropole Hotel (former residence of the Indochina governors), the State Bank (once the Bank of Indochina), and the historic École Française d’Extrême-Orient.
Next, come with us on a quintessential Hanoi experience with the vintage Vespa city tour. With your local driver-guide, move through the city’s hidden lanes, colourful markets, and serene lakeside boulevards. Pause for a coffee at a charming outdoor café overlooking West Lake, where you can soak in the city’s relaxed rhythm and scenic beauty.
In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070. This Confucian sanctuary remains one of the country’s most treasured cultural and architectural landmarks—a peaceful oasis amid the city’s bustling streets.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore Hanoi at your own pace. Perhaps wander the Old Quarter, relax at a local café, or discover an art gallery.
